Label: New State Music / Maelstrom Records

Maelstrom Records and Slinky have teamed up to release a series of digital compilations Slinky Presents Global Trance chronicling the club brand on their extensive world tour. The first album New Zealand was recorded during their recent trip to the beautiful yet diverse land and features the best new trance from big names such as Oakenfold, Sander van Doorn, Richard Durand and many more.

One of the biggest clubbing brands both in the UK and globally, Slinky has been at the forefront of dance music for well over a decade, putting Bournemouth on the map as a clubbing destination through its famous nights at The Opera House. Entertaining up to 2,000 people, the super club opened with Laurent Garnier at the controls and ran a staggering 500 shows with huge events such as The Slinky Winter Ball getting national TV coverage. The Seriously Slinky Arena Tour soon followed, rocking venues across the UK and quickly went onto capture the world’s imagination with events in every corner of the globe even being the only UK brand to hold a residency in Tokyo.

Taking on a new ownership in the summer of 2007, the current team have injected fresh life and energy into this global phenomenon. After a brief stint at the superclub Liquid in Portsmouth, they soon returned to their spiritual home The Opera House where they have hosted countless sold out events.

This year, the brand has once again toured every continent and played host to heavyweight DJ's including Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Lisa Lashes and The Tidy Boys. Paul Oakenfold who also features on this album, will appear for Slinky at the Syndicate Super Club in Bristol on Saturday 13th of September to launch the brand’s return to the compilation market place.

Lee Haslam, Slinky’s Head Of Events, Global Resident and the DJ that mixed the compilation, went onto say “Releasing an album to a global market place is a huge undertaking, so to put it into a digital format and through such a huge portal like iTunes not only gives us the freedom to embrace new music & new talent, but will also develop the brand’s market place to an exciting and cutting edge audience. We here at Slinky pride ourselves on being very forward-thinking and as a result we are extremely happy with this partnership and indeed our first compilation in nearly four years… enjoy!”
